Martin Kennedy, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Martin Kennedy is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist with over a decade of clinical experience in both private practice and university settings. Dr. Kennedy attended Cornell University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, and then the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Kennedy completed a rotating internship at the University of Minnesota, and then a residency in Anesthesia & Pain Management at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Kennedy then joined a busy multi -specialty referral practice in Cincinnati, heading the anesthesia service there until December 2019. He then worked at the University of Minnesota as an associate professor of Anesthesia & Pain Medicine, with a strong focus on clinical teaching. In the Fall of 2022, he joined the Veterinary Dental Group and together they built a remote anesthesia monitoring and consulting service that offers both pet owners and veterinary teams peace of mind during dental procedures. Dr. Kennedy works exclusively as a consultant providing remote anesthesia support to a variety of specialty hospitals. He has particular interests in total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA), the management of high-risk patients, multimodal pain control, and teaching all things anesthesia.

Sarah Jarosinki, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Jarosinski is originally from the Richmond, Virginia area. Following graduation from Hollins University, she obtained her DVM from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an equine internship at Mid Atlantic Equine Medical Center in Ringoes, New Jersey and continued her post-graduate training back at Texas A&M University where she completed an anesthesia residency. While in Texas, she met her husband Josh, who is an officer in the US Navy. Their first duty station together was in San Diego, California where Dr. Jarosinski worked at a large referral and specialty hospital as their first full-time anesthesiologist.

In 2024, Dr. Jarosinski returned home to Virginia after her husband received orders to Norfolk. As a military spouse, she’s understood the need to be malleable and worked as a traveling locum anesthesiologist and consultant before joining My Vet Anesthesiologist™.

Professionally, she’s passionate about thoroughly getting to know each patient and creating a personalized anesthetic plan tailored to the procedure. When creating an anesthetic plan, Dr. Jarosinski highlights the importance of multi-modal analgesia and
encourages her colleagues to utilize various drug combinations and locoregional analgesic techniques to provide the highest level of care. Additionally, Dr. Jarosinski strives to recommend techniques to reduce stress in-hospital for all patients regardless of the magnitude of their scheduled procedure. In her free time, Dr. Jarosinski enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, Eloise and Daphne, riding horses and distance running.

James Cryer, DVM

Dr. Cryer earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. After completing a rotating internship in Chattanooga, TN, he completed a clinical residency in Anesthesia and Pain Management at the University of Illinois. Since completion of his residency training, Dr. Cryer helped start an anesthesia service at a busy multi -specialty practice, and later founded his own anesthesia support and education company serving multiple specialty and general practices throughout the Eastern United States.

Dr. Cryer emphasizes a patient-focused, team-based approach to perianesthetic care of patients, and enjoys being a part of the healing process as an anesthetist and patient advocate. Dr Cryer’s interests include teaching and empowering other care providers about anesthesia, anesthetic management of complex and dynamic diseases, and multimodal approaches to pain management before, during, and after the procedure. Outside of clinic hours, he spends time with his wife, children, and pets, with as much outside-time as possible.

Caitlin Tearney, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Caitlin Tearney received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin. She completed advanced training at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Colorado focused on small animal medicine, surgery, and anesthesia. She then completed a residency in veterinary anesthesia and critical care at the University of California, Davis, and became board-certified in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia in 2015. After residency she returned to Colorado and Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital to start an anesthesia service where she worked as their anesthesiologist for six years. She joined the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in September 2021 as an assistant professor of comparative anesthesia and pain medicine. She pursued advanced training in acupuncture and became certified in veterinary medicine acupuncture in 2022. Since 2024 she has worked with the veterinary dental group providing remote anesthesia consulting and monitoring.

Dr. Tearney has a strong interest in regional anesthetic techniques, acute pain management, and feline anesthesia. She is a fear-free certified practitioner and RECOVER CPR certified. She tailors anesthetic plans to incorporate fear-free practices to each patient. She is passionate about teaching veterinary students, technicians, and clinicians about veterinary anesthesia to improve confidence and understanding of physiology.

Dr. Tearney lives in Minnesota with her husband, three children, and a smattering of cats, rats, and chickens. She enjoys pick up soccer games with her family and time spent on the water at the cabin.

Juliet Ross, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Juliet Ross is board-certified in Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. She obtained her veterinary degree from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at Louisiana State University followed by an anesthesia residency at the University of Tennessee working with both large and small animals. Dr. Ross enjoys working with all species and her particular clinical interests include the application of new techniques in local and regional anesthesia and creating balanced anesthetic protocols based on individual patient needs. Outside of work, Dr. Ross enjoys traveling, live music, and spending time with her own four-legged friends, Otter, Goose, and Beef.

Nathaniel Kapaldo, DVM, MPH, DACVAA

Dr. Nathaniel Kapaldo, is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he is the anesthesia section head. Dr. Kapaldo’s expertise spans clinical anesthesia, pharmacology, and biomedical innovation, with ongoing research in clinical monitoring developing animal specific technology for use of both veterinary medicine and animal production systems. He also has interest in sustainable veterinary practice, anesthetic safety across all species, and anesthesia education. His career includes prior service as a U.S. Army Reserve Medical Operations Officer and a record of teaching, mentorship, and research leadership. Dr. Kapaldo has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations and was recognized with the 2024 Environmental Stewardship Award by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

In his personal life, he is happily married to his wife, Cassidy, a veterinary anesthesia nurse he met in residency. Together they have two children, a girl and newborn boy along with way too many animals which is best described as a hobby farm!

Charlotte Burns, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Charlotte Burns is a board certified anesthesiologist working in private practice outside Philadelphia. She received her undergraduate degree at Drexel University and her doctorates at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. She then completed a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City followed by a three year anesthesia residency at the University of Georgia Athens. Dr. Burns is active in the ACVAA college being a member of the multiple choice exam committee, job task analysis committee, cut score committee, and is a mentor for the ACVAA board exam. Dr. Burns is an avid gardener (winning the Fairmount Philadelphia garden competition!), reader, and enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two snowshoe cats.

Amber Wallace, DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Amber Wallace is board-certified in Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia.  She was born in southern Louisiana, where she lived until she completed her undergraduate training at the University of New Orleans.  Dr. Wallace completed her veterinary degree at Louisiana State University, an internship at Med Vet New Orleans, and finally a residency at North Carolina State.  Her clinical interests include anesthesia for interventional cardiology procedures, managing patients with endocrinopathies, and all things feline.  Dr. Wallace is both Fear Free and RECOVER CPR certified.  She enjoys traveling, cooking,  and spending time with loved ones.  She shares her home with Ninny, a (perfect) 16-year-old tortoiseshell cat.  This year, Dr. Wallace really hopes that the renewed season of Ted Lasso comes to fruition.  She is very excited to build relationships with all of your practices.
